JonBenét Ramsey Series at Paramount+ to Be Part of Anthology on Unsolved Crimes

The JonBenet Ramsey series on Paramount+ is slated for an anthology, focusing on compelling and tragic unsolved mysteries.

Excitedly, I’ve learned that the upcoming miniseries about the tragic case of JonBenét Ramsey has a title now — it’s called “Unspeakable: The Untold Story of JonBenét Ramsey“. This series will feature Melissa McCarthy portraying Patsy Ramsey, and Clive Owen as John Bennett Ramsey, the parents of the 6-year-old JonBenét who was brutally murdered in 1996. Sadly, Patsy Ramsey passed away in 2006 following a valiant fight against ovarian cancer on two occasions.

During the 2025 Golden Globe Awards, the host revealed the name of the winning show. In this case, it was Hacks that took home the award for Best Comedy or Musical Series, with McCarthy being one of its presenters on that night.

A premiere date for Unspeakable: The Murder of JonBenét Ramsey has yet to be announced.

This series primarily revolves around the tale of Patsy and John Ramsey, focusing on their strong bond and the intricate aspects of their marriage and parenthood. It investigates how they constructed an image of a flawless, affluent lifestyle for themselves and their kids, which was tragically dismantled one Christmas night in 1996.

This ensemble additionally features Emily Mitchell, Garrett Hedlund, Alison Pill, Shea Whigham, Owen Teague, Clifton Collins Jr., Rory Cochrane, Chris Bauer, Angus Caldwell, Will Patton, John Billingsley, Jeremy Bobb, Jaime Ray Newman, Josh Stamberg, and a special appearance by Margo Martindale.

In a recent Netflix documentary titled “Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey,” directed by Joe Berlinger, John Ramsey was featured. Berlinger shared with The Hollywood Reporter that his goal for the three-part docuseries was to provide some sense of justice to John Ramsey and his family who have been affected by this case. The documentary, which quickly climbed to the top spot on Netflix within 24 hours of its release in November 2024, hinted that the Boulder Police Department may be responsible for the continued lack of resolution regarding the murder of JonBenét Ramsey, a 6-year-old girl, 28 years after her death.

In May 2022, the Ramsey family requested that the Boulder Police Department (BPD) pass on managing the DNA evidence related to their case to an external investigative body. The BPD responded following the airing of a docuseries, stating that they remain dedicated to pursuing every lead and are still collaborating with DNA experts as well as law enforcement agencies nationwide until this sorrowful case is resolved.

John Ramsey believes that the latest advancements in DNA technology and family tree genealogy research could potentially solve the murder case.

The television show titled “Unspeakable: The Murder of JonBenét Ramsey” has David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, McCarthy and Anne Sewitsky serving as executive producers. Additionally, Richard LaGravenese, Harrison Query and Tommy Wallach are credited as writers, while Anne Sewitsky is the director. Notably, LaGravenese also serves as the showrunner for this production.
