Justin Bieber’s We The Band Signs With Avex Music Group

On Thursday, Avex Music Group officially added We the Band, who have been supporting Justin Bieber for a while, to their roster.

As one of The Band’s members, I’ve got the pleasure of jamming alongside Harv on bass, DJ Tay James spinning the tunes, Julian Micheal strumming the guitar, Devin “Stixx” Taylor keeping the beat on drums, and O’Neil Palmer handling the keys. Besides being Bieber’s regular DJ, Tay James has also served as his long-time A&R. Harv, in turn, has produced numerous tracks for Bieber, such as 2020’s “Forever” with Post Malone and the massive hit “Peaches” from 2021, featuring Daniel Caesar and Giveon.

The decision was made approximately two months ago when Avex, a prominent Japanese media corporation, appointed Brandon Silverstein as CEO for their freshly established Avex Music Group. Moreover, they purchased S10 Music Publishing, which Silverstein owned.

By interacting with the band and Justin personally, I recognized their deep mutual respect and inspiration for one another, not only as creative partners but as individuals,” Silverstein stated. “Harv and Tay’s vision, coupled with the band’s undeniable talent, convinced me that this was something unique and promising. This shared enthusiasm ignited a spark in me and our team at Avex, and we are genuinely thrilled about what the future holds.

After completing the signing process, our band is wrapping up the production of their first studio album titled ‘Avex’. Although Avex hasn’t specified an exact release date, they confirmed that the album will drop later in the year. The record will include performances from several notable guests as special features.

For quite some time, our band has harbored this ambition: crafting music that truly reflects our identity as artists, under the backing of a worldwide powerhouse such as Avex. This prospect is tremendously thrilling for each one of us, and we can hardly contain our anticipation for our fans to experience the fruits of our labor.
