Kim Kardashian Reacts to L.A. District Attorney’s Call for Menendez Brothers’ Resentencing

As a fervent follower of justice, I find myself deeply moved by Kim Kardashian‘s passionate advocacy for the Menendez brothers. Her relentless pursuit of truth and fairness resonates with me, as I too have witnessed the transformative power of second chances in life.

Kim Kardashian has expressed her thoughts on the suggestion made by Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón, which was revealed on Thursday, regarding the possible re-sentencing of Erik and Lyle Menendez.

On a Thursday afternoon, the outspoken businesswoman and television personality, known for her backing of the brothers, used her Instagram Stories to express her gratitude for Gascón’s recent decision.

The Menendez brothers have been given another opportunity at freedom, as they become eligible for a parole hearing tomorrow. They may be released within six months according to Kardashian’s statement. ‘Thank you, George Gascón, for reconsidering the Menendez brothers’ case and rectifying a substantial injustice,’ Kardashian wrote. ‘Your dedication to truth and fairness is worthy of praise. To the brothers’ family, friends, and countless supporters who have spoken up — your efforts have not gone unnoticed. The media’s attention, particularly following Ryan Murphy’s TV production, shed light on the abuse and injustices within their case.’

She went on to say, “The perception of child abuse within our society has significantly changed, and social media gives us the ability to scrutinize existing systems. This incident underscores the significance of questioning judgments and pursuing the truth, regardless if innocence is already assumed.

Cooper Koch, the actor who played Erik in Ryan Murphy’s “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story”, also commended District Attorney George Gascón for his endorsement.

“I am overwhelmed with gratitude and hope for the progress we’ve seen today,” he wrote in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. “Gascón’s recommendation has ignited a renewed sense of possibility that Lyle and Erik could finally be released after decades behind bars.”

He went on to say, “However, our mission is not yet complete. Important milestones lie ahead: the judge needs to approve the new sentencing, followed by the parole board recognizing the time they’ve served as adequate for their crime. Our constant advocacy remains vital—not only for their release but also for every sexual abuse survivor seeking justice. I eagerly look forward to the day when Erik and Lyle are released from all of this.
