Kurono Tokyo’s “SENSU NOS” Models Showcase Stunning Guilloché Dials

As a seasoned collector with a penchant for unique and exquisite timepieces, I can confidently say that Kurono Tokyo’s Special Projects Réserve de Marche “SENSU NOS” has piqued my interest. The blend of Art Deco aesthetics and Eastern influences is nothing short of captivating.

Returning with a fresh watch launch, Kurono Tokyo recently revealed two Special Projects Réserve de Marche wristwatches, affectionately known as “SENSU NOS.

Displayed in both blue and cream versions, these models showcase an intricate guilloché design on a curved dial, masterfully redesigned by Hajime Asaoka, founder of Kurono Tokyo and a well-known watchmaker. Measuring 38mm in diameter, the “SENSU NOS” design embodies the elegance of Art Deco style. Arabic numerals are used on the Cream variant, while blue-steel hands add a captivating pop of color contrast against the dial’s subtle tones. In contrast, the Blue edition incorporates Eastern elements such as Kanji hour markers and a guilloché power-reserve indicator in the form of a folding Japanese fan, which is reminiscent of traditional calligraphy.

At the core of “SENSU NOS” lies a modified Cal.9134PWT movement, specially crafted by Kurono Tokyo. As stated by the brand, Asaoka eliminated the original date function from this caliber to reduce the number of dial indicators – aiming for a timelessly minimalist dial that would showcase his intricate guilloche pattern more prominently.

The “SENSU N.O.S” watches from Special Projects Réserve de Marche, priced at $2,150 USD per piece, will be up for order on October 10th (10 p.m. JST/ 9 a.m. EDT). Deliveries are estimated to begin in November 2024 for successful orders. For further details, check out Kurono Tokyo’s official website.
