As a seasoned traveler who’s spent more time in the friendly skies than I care to admit, let me tell you, the new Delta One Lounge at LAX has completely redefined airport luxury for me! The moment you step through that unassuming door, it’s like entering a sanctuary, far removed from the hustle and bustle of the terminal.
Six months following the debut of Delta One Lounge at JFK Airport, Los Angeles is stepping things up too. The recently unveiled facility, opened last month, provides an exclusive luxury experience for both business and leisure travelers, one that minimizes contact with the general public.
As a loyal Delta One passenger, I’m thrilled to share my unique experience that sets apart from the ordinary domestic first class travelers. This exceptional service begins even before stepping into the terminal. Upon arrival at Terminal 3 in Los Angeles (LAX), I discreetly find the entrance on the lower arrivals level. Here, I’m welcomed into the exclusive Delta One check-in area, where white-glove service swiftly guides me through security and onto private elevators. This extraordinary service was introduced in May 2023, transforming the previous Sky Club entry into a more selective zone for me to enjoy.
Inside, travelers can indulge in some exceptional amenities such as nap pods, zero-gravity chairs, massage chairs, Hyperice recovery tools, luxurious shower suites, shoe shine services, and valet steaming. To elevate the experience even further, Missoni has added stylish touches like accent pillows, decorative vases, and coffee table books in both the library lounge and outdoor terrace areas.
And, of course, there’s the food. The space features a separate bar (where they serve craft cocktails inspired by international Delta hubs), a sushi bar (offering rolls and bento boxes) a dessert table and a dining room. While the JFK location enlisted local restaurateur Danny Meyer to design a three-course tasting menu, the West Coast offering is (fittingly) slightly more casual: there are à la carte selections for breakfast and all-day dining, with culinary input from local favorites like Sqirl, The Butchers Daughter and Verve. It’s all so deluxe you can almost forget you’re on a business trip.
