As a seasoned gamer and LEGO enthusiast who grew up in the ’80s, I can’t help but feel a wave of nostalgia at the sight of the LEGO Icons Blacktron Renegade Set. The original Blacktron Renegade spaceship was a staple of my childhood, with its sleek black and yellow design and asymmetrical shape that set it apart from other LEGO space sets.
LEGO is rekindling ’80s interstellar nostalgia by unveiling the LEGO Icons Blacktron Rebel Set, a homage to the Blacktron Future Generation series from the 1980s. The original Blacktron Renegade spaceship, admired for its sleek black and yellow design with an off-center shape, is still cherished among fans as a timeless piece from LEGO’s iconic space collection.
This revamped model combines vintage allure with contemporary technology, boasting intricate design elements tailored for mature collectors. The customizable spaceship showcases unique features such as a detachable planet-exploring rover pod, retractable landing legs and two spacecraft attached to the wings. Alongside the set come three Blacktron action figures and a robotic figure. Online guides provide builders with the flexibility to redesign the set into the legendary Blacktron Alienator.
The 1,151-part collection, retailing for $99, is anticipated to go on sale on January 4th. It will be available through LEGO’s official website and at certain authorized retailers.
