Lil Wayne Responds to Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl Reference on ‘GNX’

As a gamer with a deep appreciation for hip-hop, I find myself deeply immersed in the ongoing saga of Lil Wayne and Kendrick Lamar. Being a longtime fan of both artists, it’s fascinating to witness their camaraderie and friendly rivalry unfold through their music.

Lil Wayne has spoken up regarding Kendrick Lamar’s allusion to him in “Wacced Out Murals,” the inaugural track of Kendrick’s sudden release album titled GNX. This album dropped on November 22, and within it, this song brings up Wayne’s dissatisfaction over not being selected as the headliner for the Super Bowl LIX halftime show, a prestigious position that eventually fell to Kendrick.

Although Kendrick’s lyrics were open and straightforward, Wayne accepted them with grace. In discussion about this topic, he confessed that he hadn’t listened to the song at first but, upon reading the lyrics, he saw them as a sign of mutual admiration. “He’s a fan, just like I am,” Wayne stated, recognizing Kendrick’s dedication and accomplishments.
