As a lifelong Lotus enthusiast and a die-hard Formula One fanatic who has attended more Grands Prix than I can count, the Emira Limited series is an absolute dream come true! The vibrant colors, iconic designs, and the limited edition nature of these beauties transport me back to some of my favorite moments in racing history.
The automobile company, Lotus, has introduced a special, limited edition series of their Emira model, paying tribute to their Formula One history. This exceptional series is based on the highly-acclaimed four-cylinder Emira and showcases five unique designs inspired by legendary Lotus racing cars. Each of these exclusive designs will only be available in a run of 12 vehicles, signifying Ayrton Senna’s race number during his time with Lotus.
Emira Limited unveils an innovative approach to personalization, giving a sneak peek into the forthcoming Chapman Bespoke customization initiative, due for launch in 2025. This program empowers clients to craft their own vehicles by harmoniously blending tradition with unique identity.
Kkey moments that reflect Lotus’s racing history include:
- The vibrant yellow-and-blue Type 99T celebrates Senna’s 1987 Monaco Grand Prix victory.
- The shadow grey-and-gold Type 97T recalls Senna’s first Grand Prix win in 1985.
- The blue Type 86 pays tribute to Lotus’s groundbreaking twin-chassis design of 1980.
- The shadow grey-and-gold Type 78 honors Mario Andretti’s 1977 success.
- The dark green Type 25 reflects Jim Clark’s 1963 championship-winning car.
Every Emira Limited comes equipped with unique emblems, personalized paint job applied at the Hethel factory itself, and a document verifying its authenticity. Under the hood, you’ll find a 2L AMG turbocharged engine, capable of producing 360 horsepower, resulting in a swift 0 to 62 mph acceleration time of just 4.5 seconds.
Currently, Emira Limited cars can be found in twelve different European nations when they’re purchased. The price range begins at approximately €98,107 EUR ($103,000 USD) depending on the model.
