After mastering acting, Aamir Khan shifted focus to film production. He’s not only been an actor but also dabbled in directing during his successful career. Now, known as ‘Mr. Perfectionist,’ Aamir is eager to retell the epic of Mahabharata in his unique style. In a recent interview, Khan expressed that he wants several directors for his grand project.
In a recent conversation with Hollywood Reporter India, Aamir Khan discussed the future of the Indian film industry and his plans for his upcoming projects. The actor from PK revealed that one dream project he hopes to begin this year is developing the epic saga of the Mahabharata.
He expressed one of his major goals, mentioning it could take a few years just to complete the writing phase. Aamir shared that he plans to join the project as a producer. When inquired if he would act in the film as well, Aamir replied, “We’ll consider who would be best suited for each role.
When asked about potentially directing the epic film, the actor expressed that The Mahabharata is a tale that can’t be fully conveyed in a single movie. Although he hasn’t confirmed his role as director yet, he hinted that the story would span several films. Therefore, if they want to release it within a specific timeframe, they might require multiple directors to handle different parts of the project.
In his candid opinion, the star of Lagaan added that if movies are produced sequentially, it would require an extensive amount of time. Consequently, they plan to emulate The Lord of the Rings production style and shoot all parts simultaneously. “I suspect you might need multiple directors for such a project,” Aamir humorously suggested.

On one hand, I’m deeply immersed in his acting roles that keep me captivated, but behind the scenes, he’s been pouring his heart into several ventures. Among them is the highly anticipated Sitaare Zameen Par, a project close to my beloved Khan.
