Sadly, Mandy Moore has announced that her house was destroyed by the devastating wildfires sweeping through Los Angeles.
Since Tuesday evening, the actress from “This Is Us” has been posting updates on her Instagram Story. Initially, she disclosed that she had evacuated and was secure with her children, dogs, and cats. In her initial post, she expressed her prayers and gratitude towards the first responders.
She shared with her followers this morning, expressing, “I’m thankful for the kindness of my friends who provided us a safe haven last night. I’m doing my best to keep the kids unaware of the immense sadness and anxiety I’m feeling. Sending prayers out to our wonderful city. So heartbroken over the devastation and loss. Uncertain if our home survived. #eatonfire
In the course of the afternoon, Moore uploaded a video seemingly showing her navigating the wreckage within her neighborhood, with plumes of smoke still filling the atmosphere overhead. She disclosed that her residence in Altadena, California, had been destroyed by the Eaton fire.
She expressed, “This is Altadena, flattened. It was my cherished abode,” she penned. “I’m heartbroken and stunned for those who’ve suffered immense loss. I find myself speechless with shock.
In a subsequent message, she noted, “Our children’s school no longer exists. Many of our favorite eating places have been flattened. Unfortunately, many friends and family members have also lost everything. Despite the fractures within our community, we are determined to work together to rebuild. My thoughts and affection go out to everyone impacted and those working tirelessly to manage this situation.

The actress who starred in “A Walk to Remember” is one of many individuals from L.A. who have been forced to leave due to the rapidly spreading wildfires in the county. Other notable figures from Hollywood have taken to social media to provide personal updates about the fire and its consequences, with Mark Hamill, Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, James Woods, Jamie Lee Curtis, Diane Warren, Cameron Mathison, and Josh Gad being some of them.
The fire that broke out on Tuesday in Pacific Palisades subsequently reached areas of Malibu and Santa Monica during the night. By early Wednesday, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported that the Palisades fire had not been contained at all. Additionally, three other ongoing wildfires in the L.A. region – the Eaton, Hurst, and Woodley fires – remain uncontained as well.
