Mayfair Witches’ Alyssa Jirrels Teases Moira And Lasher Finally Sharing A Scene, And It’s Making Me Second-Guess What’s Next

Spoilers for Season 2 of Mayfair Witches are ahead! Read with caution!

Over the past month, the second season of Mayfair Witches has been added to the 2025 TV lineup, and ever since then, I’ve been making a point to watch the Anne Rice adaptation on Sundays. One particularly captivating character this season is Moira Mayfair, portrayed by Alyssa Jirrels, who joined the show following her role in Fatal Attraction in 2023. In my interview with the actress, I couldn’t help but ask about a plot point I’ve been anticipating that involves her character and Lasher. However, her hint about it left me questioning what I thought was going to happen next.

I Asked Mayfair Witches’ Alyssa Jirrels About Moira And Lasher Finally Meeting, But It’s Not What I’ve Been Expecting

After joining the series, Moira has faced numerous hardships. Following her sister Tessa’s demise during the previous season, she returned to New Orleans. In a recent episode, her mother was brutally murdered by Lasher. When I inquired if the season is leading towards a confrontation between Moira and Lasher, Jirrels replied:

*The show has been tough on Moira since she joined.* She left New Orleans after her sister Tessa passed away last season. And in a recent episode, her mother was brutally taken by Lasher. When I asked if the season is building up to a showdown between Moira and Lasher, Jirrels suggested:

It seems like she has mixed feelings about Lasher, but as the story unfolds, she discovers more information that might change her views on him, as well as on Rowan and their family. There’s a significant moment with Moira and Lasher, but keep in mind that her character develops significantly throughout the season, so the outcome may not be what you anticipate.

It seems clear to me that Lasher’s character is developing a more complex narrative this season, making him appear slightly more compassionate. However, my instincts tell me not to trust him entirely. I had anticipated Moira would be taking decisive action against him, as it seemed the more logical course of action to me.

As a movie enthusiast, I find myself drawn to Alexandra Daddario’s character, Rowan, who plays both my motherly figure and romantic interest in the film. Given this unique relationship dynamic, it seems unlikely that she would be the one to thwart the Mayfair women, including Thora Birch’s recent appearance as one of them, from meeting a tragic end at my hands.

Based on Jirrels’ statement, it seems like Moira may grow closer to Rowan as the season unfolds. While she didn’t reveal much in our conversation, her comments suggest that if there is opposition against Lasher, it might not be just Moira standing alone, but possibly both of them together.

I’m More Confused Than Ever About Where The Season Is Going, But Jirrels Did Give Me Insight Into Moira and Rowan’s Relationship

If you haven’t read the “Mayfair Witches” books, you might have been unsure about where the TV show was heading. Jirrels’ comments, however, are making me think that Season 2 may not end in the way I anticipated. I had assumed it would involve a showdown between Moira and Lasher, but now I’m uncertain.

According to Jirrels’ remarks, it seems that Rowan and Moira might grow even more estranged or end up as allies. Let me share with you what Jirrels mentioned about their connection:

As a film critic, let me share my thoughts on this intriguing character dynamic in our latest series. This mysterious woman, much like Rowan’s reflection of inner turmoil, serves as both the antagonist and a mirror for our protagonist, Alex. She initially presents as the voice of reason, providing an outside perspective that mirrors the audience’s confusion – ‘what on earth is happening?’

This intricate relationship, which I find particularly captivating, has room to evolve in the upcoming episodes. What drew me in was the sense of equality between these two characters, despite their age difference. Moira, being another powerful young witch, offers Alex a rare equal partner. This balance is crucial for me as it adds depth and complexity to their interactions, making their scenes all the more compelling.

They might end up competing directly or deciding to work together; it’s uncertain at the moment, but I’m definitely going to watch this coming Sunday to find out how things unfold further.

While we’re waiting, feel free to explore further insights from my chat with Alyssa Jirrels over at TopMob. Enjoy!
