Mercedes-Benz Explores Innovation Through Art in ‘PROTOTYPE’ Exhibition

Mercedes-Benz has announced a new event titled PROTOTYPE, an art exhibition running from January 25 to March 22, 2025, at Studio Odeonsplatz in Munich. Organized by the Mercedes-Benz Art Collection and curated by Christopher Dake-Outhet, this exhibit highlights six international contemporary artists who explore the boundaries of prototypes using various physical and digital mediums.

In this exhibit, Simon Denny combines blockchain technology with art influenced by Mercedes-Benz concept cars in the form of hybrid paintings, while Salomé Chatriot incorporates natural elements into digital depictions of her own breath. Paul Seidler delves into alternative time systems, and Sarah Friend fuses digital security with car access using a Mercedes-Benz Smart Key. Additionally, Theo Triantafyllidis offers a multiplayer game that innovatively redefines digital interaction, while Harm van den Dorpel’s collection, based on blockchain, mimics the spinning motion of spoked wheels.

As a gamer, I’m excited to share that my experience at this exhibition is going to be enriched by a lineup of engaging activities! First up, there’s a panel discussion about the impact of prototypes in both art and industry, happening on February 14th. Then, on the 15th, a curator will guide us through an intriguing tour. Fast forward to March 1st, where an artist will lead a workshop focusing on digital identity. The grand finale? An art performance and discussion with Salomé Chatriot on March 21st! Can’t wait to dive into these events!

In line with its dedication to the artistic world, Mercedes-Benz consistently merges automobile design with creative exploration, encouraging viewers to envision the future using the perspective of cutting-edge technology.
