Mere Husband Ki Biwi: ‘Modi ji’ mention removed from Arjun Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, Rakul Preet Singh starrer; know 3 other changes CBFC suggested

The movie titled “Husband’s Wife” has made its debut in cinemas on February 21, 2025. The film features Arjun Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, and Rakul Preet Singh in the main roles, offering a delightful romantic comedy experience. Reports indicate that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has eliminated a reference to ‘Modi ji’ from the movie, along with suggesting three other adjustments.

Based on a recent article from Bollywood Hungama, it appears that the CBFC requested four alterations in the film Mere Husband Ki Biwi. They proposed substituting scenes involving the ‘woman hand gesture.’ Additionally, the term ‘Haryanvi’ was amended to ‘Ek Gang.’ Furthermore, any references to ‘Modi ji’ were replaced with a general reference to ‘The Government.’

The CBFC requested the filmmakers to lower the ‘explicit audio of a woman’ by half, and it appears this adjustment pertains to the final scene in the trailer where Arjun Kapoor’s character, Ankur, kisses Antara (played by Rakul Preet Singh) on the neck. This action reportedly elicits loud noises from Antara, aimed at provoking jealousy in Prabhleen (Bhumi Pednekar), Ankur’s ex-wife.

As per the information on the CBFC website, the movie “Mere Husband Ki Biwi” has been given a ‘UA 13+’ rating. This film runs for approximately 143 minutes and 44 seconds, which equates to a length of 2 hours, 23 minutes, and 44 seconds.

Yesterday, Arjun Kapoor shared a touching message prior to the release of the movie. He expressed that the experience, from filming to promotions and everything in between, felt like an exciting adventure. Not only because he was working with friends, but also because this film was simply hilarious on its own!

Overflowing with enthusiasm, he declared, “I can hardly contain my excitement and I can’t wait for everyone to witness the fruit of our collective labor by the entire team!

In addition to Arjun Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, and Rakul Preet Singh, the film also stars Aditya Seal, Dino Morea, Harsh Gujral, and others. Mere Husband Ki Biwi is directed by Mudassar Aziz. This production is presented by Vashu Bhagnani and Puja Films, with Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, and Deepshikha Deshmukh serving as the producers.
