MF DOOM Fans React to ‘Gladiator II’ Popcorn Bucket Featuring Late Rapper’s Mask

As a seasoned gamer and film enthusiast with a soft spot for the 2000 classic “Gladiator”, I can hardly contain my excitement over the upcoming sequel! But, it’s not just the movie that has me buzzing; it’s the mind-blowing collectible popcorn bucket! The fact that they’ve recreated Maximus Decimus Meridius’ helmet as a functional lid for the bucket is pure genius.

In the upcoming release of “Gladiator II,” moviegoers will receive a unique collectible popcorn container next month, which features a replica silver helmet perched atop it.

In the first 2000 film “Gladiator”, starring Russell Crowe as Maximus Decimus Meridius, the distinctive helmet was introduced and is anticipated to appear again in the upcoming sequel. What has sparked greater enthusiasm among fans, though, is the prospect of owning a real-life replica of MF DOOM‘s famous mask, which takes inspiration from that very helmet seen in the movie.

In the late 1990s, as DOOM’s solo career soared, he started donning a mask. Although his stage name is linked to the Marvel character Doctor Doom who also wears a mask, he chose to draw inspiration from the movie ‘Gladiator’ for his own disguise.

As a gamer, I couldn’t help but notice how this helmet conveniently flipped open at the top, offering me easy access to grab a handful of popcorn without having to completely take it off its container. And guess what? When they unveiled the bucket, it seemed like it was modeled after DOOM’s mask – instantly sparking comparisons among the fans!

Directed by Ridley Scott, Gladiator II releases in theaters on November 22.
