In Monster Hunter Wilds, when you reach the high rank and complete the main story quests, defeating specific monsters, you’ll enter a phase of continuous grinding. During this stage, you can passively collect certain resources for free if you meet certain conditions first. This guide will help you unlock this beneficial feature!
All Farm Side Quests | How to Unlock Farming in Wilds
The term you’re seeking isn’t “farming” as you might think, but instead it’s referred to as “Material Gathering“. You can begin this process as soon as chapter 4. Since we’re just stepping into the higher levels, there shouldn’t be any challenges for you when you’ve completed the primary storyline related to Nata.
From what we gather, there’s no specific sequence required for finishing these side missions; you can advance through the game at your own pace and take care of them as you come across them. However, do remember that you need to accomplish tasks within each region first, so that you can utilize the feature in that particular area.
Here’s a rundown of the optional missions, or “side missions,” you’ll need to finish to gain access to the “Material Retrieval” feature across all the game’s existing areas at present.
- Beware the Gypceros – Windward Plains, from the NPC called Zatoh at the Kunafa, Windsong Village area. You might need to wait until day time for him to show up if you can’t seem to find him anywhere in the small village. Murtabak is the NPC for material retrieval.
- Aida’s Apprehensions – This is done at the Oilwell Basin region, and Aida will offer you this side quest as soon as you enter high rank, so you should be able to do this immediately if you wish to do so. Sabar is the NPC who you need to speak with for the material retrieval feature.
- Lurking Shadows – This is actually a main quest that you will unlock as you progress through the high rank story stuff. At Suja, Peaks of Accord, you should be able to use material retrieval through the NPC known as Apar.
- Make Fluffy Dealings – This is given to you by the NPC named Plumpeach at the Scarlet Forest, and it can only be done once you complete Lurking Shadows, so you will need to progress through the main stuff first. The same NPC is who will be used for the feature later on.
- Astonishing Adaptability – At Sild, the Keeper’s Vigil, this is given to you by Tasheen, and completing it will let you use the feature through an NPC named Rysher. This will require you to progress through even more high rank main missions, particularly the one called Wyvern Sparks and Rose Thorns.
Just remember, when tackling these side missions, you might need to confront some creatures. This is essential for uncovering each region’s unique aspect of this feature, which, by now, shouldn’t come as a surprise.
After completing all tasks and being able to utilize Material Retrieval in each region, an effortless method to gather resources without physically visiting designated NPCs is simply chatting with Nata at your campsite. Previously irritated characters from the main story may now find a reason to appreciate him!
Instead of altering the specific items every person collects individually, requiring a visit to each one for manual adjustments, you could also automate most settings changes. Meanwhile, remember to periodically log in to claim or sell any complimentary loot that becomes available.
