Natasha Rothwell Calls The White Lotus Season 3 ‘The Best One Yet’

As a fervent admirer of the captivating world of television, I must express my profound excitement for the upcoming third season of The White Lotus. The return of the incomparable Natasha Rothwell, a versatile actress whose portrayal of Belinda in Season 1 left an indelible impression on me, is simply the cherry on top of an already enticing ensemble.

The highly anticipated third season of “The White Lotus” has earned rave reviews from one of its returning stars, Natasha Rothwell, who boldly declares it surpasses all previous seasons. Remarkably, Rothwell is among the select few cast members to reprise their roles in a second season. Notably, Jennifer Coolidge portrayed Tanya McQuoid in the debut season set in Hawaii and returned for the show’s second installment, which transported viewers to Italy. Similarly, Rothwell was seen as Belinda, an employee at the White Lotus resort with ambitions to start her own business, in the first season.

In the upcoming Season 3, Natasha Rothwell rejoins the cast alongside fresh faces such as Carrie Coon, Walton Goggins, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey, Jason Isaacs, and others. During an interview with SiriusXM, Rothwell hinted at her return for this new season. Rothwell shared that Season 3 is the most expansive in scale compared to previous seasons. Although Rothwell enjoyed her time working on the series during its first run, she believes Season 3 surpasses the earlier installments. Rothwell elaborated by saying:

As a passionate film enthusiast, I must say that Season 1 of this show was like discovering a rare gem, truly unique and special. To witness how Mike [White] has evolved the series since then is nothing short of astonishing. And let me tell you, the final season takes it to another level – it’s bigger, bolder, more insane! Now, I may be biased, but in my humble opinion, this last season surpasses all others and stands out as the best yet.

The White Lotus Season 1 was shot during the COVID pandemic and aired on HBO in 2021. The series, created and written by Mike White, is regarded as one of the network’s greatest shows of all time — which is high praise considering the medium-defining programs HBO has produced. Introducing a new cast of characters each season (with the occasional returning face), past vacations have seen Sydney Sweeney, Jake Lacy, Theo James, Murray Bartlett, Connie Britton, Lukas Gage, Alexandra Daddario, Aubrey Plaza, Michael Imperioli, and many more star-studded names jet off to the luxurious White Lotus branch of hotels.

The White Lotus Season 3 Explores “Spirituality”

Not much information about The White Lotus’ third season has been disclosed yet, but it’s moving its cast to Thailand for fresh adventures. Each location significantly impacts the series’ overall narrative, with Thailand’s Buddhist history likely shaping Season 3’s themes. Creator Mike White hinted that this season will delve into topics like death and spirituality, drawing inspiration from the country’s rich religious background.

Throughout the discussion, Natasha Rothwell elaborated on how Season 3 explores unique manifestations of spirituality, particularly as depicted by her character, Belinda.

In Season 1, Belinda served as the resort’s masseuse and endeavored to convince Tonya to invest in her upcoming business project. As Belinda journeys to Thailand (it hasn’t been disclosed whether her character is visiting for leisure or working for the local White Lotus branch), Rothwell suggested that Belinda’s ideologies and profession align seamlessly with the new season’s central themes. She elaborated:

“I can’t help but marvel at this stunning country we’re in. As a fan, I’ve been eagerly anticipating this season, especially since Mike mentioned it would delve into spirituality. Given Belinda’s background in massage arts, I believe her connection with Tanya from Season 1 was a manifestation of that exploration. Consequently, I’m thrilled to embark on this spiritual journey alongside her in Season 3.”
