Netflix Drops Teaser Trailer for ‘Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft’

As a longtime fan of the Tomb Raider franchise, my heart skipped a beat when I saw the teaser for Lara Croft’s return to our screens as an animated series on Netflix. Having grown up playing the games and watching the movies, I can’t help but feel nostalgic about this iconic character.

The adventurous character Lara Croft returns, this time on Netflix as an animated series titled “Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft“. Last year, a sneak peek was given, and now, the first teaser trailer has been released. In it, Hayley Atwell lends her voice to the lead character, Lara Croft, within the universe of the renowned video game franchise.

The animated series unfolds following the storyline of the Tomb Raider Survivor trilogy video games, during which Lara Croft embarks on a fresh phase of globe-trotting and exploration of ancient ruins after the events depicted. In the show’s summary: “Picking up from where the Survivor series left off, Lara Croft chooses to forgo her companions in favor of riskier solo journeys. However, she is compelled to return home when a valuable and menacing Chinese artifact goes missing from Croft Manor at the hands of a thief with a peculiar personal connection. Her thrilling pursuit will lead her across continents and into long-forgotten tombs, forcing her to confront her inner self and determine the kind of hero she aspires to be.”

In addition, Allen Maldonado lends his voice to Zip, while Earl Baylon reprises his character Jonah from the game. Previously, Angelina Jolie embodied Lara Croft in the franchise film, but later Alicia Vikander took on the role. The animated series debuts on Netflix on October 10.
