New Line Partners with Nocturna for Zazie Beetz Horror Thriller ‘They Will Kill You’

As a longtime fan of edge-of-your-seat thrillers and Zazie Beetz‘s captivating acting prowess, I can’t help but get excited about her upcoming project, “They Will Kill You.” The fact that this production is being backed by New Line and the Muschietti duo, who gave us the record-breaking horror phenomenon “It,” just adds fuel to my anticipation.

Skybound Studios will join forces for funding and release of the chilling thriller titled “They Will Kill You“, which is being produced under Nocturna Pictures, a horror studio established this year by Skydance in collaboration with the creators of the movie “It“, Andy and Barbara Muschietti.

Actress Zazie Beetz is preparing to take on a new role, with filming scheduled to begin around mid-September in South Africa.

Kiril Sokolov, known for penning and directing the 2019 black action comedy “Why Don’t You Just Die!”, is taking on the director’s role again. He collaborated with Alex Litvak (screenwriter of ‘Predators’) in writing the script this time.

A chilling horror tale infused with Sokolov’s signature dark humor introduces us to a protagonist (Beetz), who unwittingly takes up a housekeeping job in a peculiar skyscraper in New York City. Little does she know, this building has been the scene of several unexplained disappearances throughout its history.

David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger are set to produce a film through Skydance, in collaboration with the Muschiettis and ex-Orion executive Dan Kagan.

I’m delighted to be part of the team that’s executive producing the captivating film, Nocturna. Alongside me in this role are Russell Ackerman, John Schoenfelder, Sokolov, Litvak, and Carl Hampe, who are all instrumental in its creation.

Kill You represents a reunification of sorts between New Line and the Muschiettis. Andy and Barbara Muschietti, in their roles as director and producer respectively, delivered the two-part adaptation of Stephen King’s It. The first part shattered horror movie records by becoming the highest grossing horror film ever. The second part also proved successful at the box office, contributing to New Line acquiring one of its two billion-dollar horror franchises (the other being The Conjuring Universe).
