NOAH’s Folding Stool Is Made out of Reclaimed Wooden Coat Hangers

As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for functional and aesthetically pleasing items that reflect my eclectic taste, I must say, the NOAH folding stool has caught my eye. Having spent countless hours hunched over gaming consoles, the idea of a versatile, comfortable seating solution that doesn’t compromise on style is a welcome one.

Noah designed a foldable stool made from repurposed materials, emphasizing the idea of transforming unwanted resources into clever design concepts. They collaborated with skilled Japanese artisans to assemble the stool.

As a gamer, I’ve repurposed some old wooden coat hangers to craft the legs of this unique stool. It boasts a blend of layers from North American white ash, black walnut, and Japanese zelkova, giving it a rich and diverse wood grain. To enhance its beauty, I applied a clear coating for a sleek, laminated look. Lastly, I put together the construction using robust brass hardware.

The seat of the stool is made out of nume leather and embossed with the NOAH brand logo.

Through my years of creating furniture, I’ve found that a stool stands out as the fundamental and versatile piece. Among them, the folding stool holds a special place – it’s a timeless classic with practicality that shines in various settings, according to NOAH co-founder Estelle Bailey-Babenzien.

This stool harmoniously blends opulent elements such as wood, brass, and leather with practicality, offering an appealing mix. Intelligent, considerate design infuses enjoyment into our everyday encounters, enhancing the delight of using these items.

Priced at $748 USD, NOAH’s folding stool is available online and at the brand’s New York flagship.
