As a die-hard fan of Indian cinema and particularly the Laapataa Ladies, I must say that my heart is heavy with the news of their Oscar snub. Having followed their journey, from the small villages of Rajasthan to the grand stage of the Oscars, I felt like I was right there with them, every step of the way.
Unfortunately, Laapataa Ladies, India’s submission for the Best Foreign Language Film at the Oscars 2025, did not make the final cut. However, in a positive light, the producers expressed disappointment but also emphasized their optimism, viewing this as a stepping stone rather than an ending.
