Michael Che’s Best ‘SNL’ Sketches

After joining Saturday Night Live in 2014, Michael Che’s tenure has significantly reshaped the concept of delivering late-night comedy, particularly on the prestigious Weekend Update segment. Deadpool & Wolverine Had A Line Cut For Going Way Too Far

Director Adam Somner Mourned by Spielberg, Scorsese & More

In many films, it’s the directors who receive most of the praise, but first assistant directors are equally important in bringing ideas to life – a topic excellently explored in HBO’s latest series, The Franchise. Many filmmakers and producers have started their careers as assistant directors, while others find this role particularly fitting due to its blend of creative directing with production management. Notably, the talented Adam Somner, who sadly passed away on Nov. 27, 2024, at the age of 59 from anaplastic thyroid cancer, was renowned for his work in this role. He collaborated with film giants such as Steven Spielberg, Paul Thomas Anderson, Martin Scorsese, Ridley Scott, Wes Anderson, and Alejandro G. Iñárritu, among others, and boasted an impressive body of work both as a director and producer.

However, there are some unique Christmas movies that aren’t from Hallmark. One such film is the new movie starring Jack Black, titled Dear Santa. This movie seems to fit the bill for your typical heartwarming holiday comedies where a child writes a letter to Santa, and Santa shows up. But in this instance, the child accidentally spells Santa as ‘Satan’ and unwittingly summons the ruler of Hell instead. Despite the marketing promising a family-friendly movie, there could be an interesting twist – what if another film with the same plotline were released at the same time? And what if that other film also had the exact same title? Now, isn’t that an intriguing scenario to consider?
