Harrison Ford and Brad Pitt Clash in ‘The Devil’s Own’ Now Streaming on Netflix
Brad Pitt was on his way to becoming a well-known figure when “The Devil’s Own” was released on March 26, 1997. Prior to this role, he had acted in approximately 21 films. In this movie, he played Francis “Frankie” McGuire/ Rory Devaney, a member of the Provisional Irish Republican Army who came to the U.S. to acquire black market anti-aircraft missiles. This mission wasn’t simple, particularly when Frankie developed a bond with an Irish-American policeman, Sergeant Tom O’Meara (portrayed by Harrison Ford). In New York City, Frankie went by the name Rory Devaney, who O’Meara thought was a new immigrant laborer, while residing with the police officer and his family.
