HBO’s DCU Lanterns Series Adds Boardwalk Empire Star Kelly Macdonald
HBO’s show “Lanterns” has attracted a well-known actress, Kelly Macdonald, to its cast, marking her entry into the DCU. Known for her debut in the classic 1996 film “Trainspotting,” Macdonald has since established herself as a respected actress with numerous significant roles, including lending her voice to Merida in Pixar’s “Brave.” In 2006, she won an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie for her performance in “The Girl in the Café.” The following year, she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the BAFTAs for her role in “No Country for Old Men,” and later received Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for her portrayal of Margaret Thompson on HBO’s popular series “Boardwalk Empire.
