The Pardo Verde jury, which acknowledges films that contribute substantially to environmental consciousness and action, comprises U.S. independent director, writer, and producer Michael Almereyda, Italian director Martina Parenti known for her collaborative documentaries with Massimo D’Anolfi, and Seta Thakur, who leads communications and social innovation at the Wyss Academy for Nature.
In a statement, Giona A. Nazzaro, artistic director of the Locarno Film Festival, expressed gratitude to all artists who accepted their invitation to join juries at the festival. He stated that these artists would help introduce an exceptional and innovative collection of films to the world. The aim was to assemble juries that would enjoy the joy of discovering filmmakers, both established and emerging; jurors whose perspectives were open and generous. They sought visionary artists who they knew could still be touched by new discoveries and surprises.
