Tipton explained to us that what just happened seemed unrealistic due to its outlandish tone, difficult setup, and the challenge of making even over-the-top, seemingly absurd actions feel genuine. MovieWeb recently had a chat with director Tøndel who shared insights about his long-standing partnership with Reinsve. This duo worked together on an unpublished short film eight years ago, and they’re now teaming up again for the release of “Armand” in U.S. cinemas this week. But that’s not all! Tøndel revealed to us that he has already begun writing a new project with Renate in mind. “The character I am creating is quite intense,” he said, adding that it’s an incredibly exciting opportunity, especially since he now knows Reinsve even better. He went on to say that having her in mind while writing brings many subtle details and layers to the story.
In one of his earliest film roles, Neeson stars alongside Mickey Rourke as two IRA members and close friends whose lives are drastically changed when Rourke’s character, Martin Fallon, abruptly decides to leave behind his life of violence and terrorism. When Fallon refuses to kill a priest (Bob Hoskins) who witnessed his final killing, the IRA sends Liam Docherty (Neeson) to London to persuade Fallon to return to Ireland and the IRA, with orders to kill Fallon if he refuses again. However, despite Fallon’s second refusal, Docherty cannot bring himself to kill his friend. As punishment, the IRA orders Siobhan (Alison Doody), a younger IRA member who accompanied Docherty to London to meet with Fallon, to kill Docherty. She promptly shoots him in the head in their London apartment.
