ABC, Fox News Maintain Leads in Second Quarter TV News Ratings
During the April to June period, ABC’s “World News Tonight,” hosted by David Muir, was the most-watched evening news program on the broadcast networks, averaging 7.37 million viewers per weeknight. It significantly outperformed both the “NBC Nightly News” (5.79 million) and the “CBS Evening News” (3.85 million). In fact, the difference in viewership between “World News Tonight” and NBC was its largest victory margin in a second quarter in the past 30 years, with a lead of 1.58 million viewers.
