As a diehard fan, I was thrilled to hear that Shinichirō Watanabe, the mastermind behind “Cowboy Bebop,” made a surprise appearance at New York Comic Con. He teamed up with Adult Swim to unveil his latest series, “Lazarus.” During the event, they screened the full premiere episode of this new show, and it was an absolute treat to hear the familiar voices of Koichi Yamadera and Megumi Hayashibara, who were original stars in “Cowboy Bebop.” This upcoming series is a production of Sola Entertainment and Studio MAPPA, with plans for its debut on Adult Swim in 2025. If you haven’t seen it yet, check out the freshly released trailer below!
The eagerly awaited follow-up to last year’s surprise blockbuster, “Smile,” is “Smile 2.” Originally penned and helmed by Parker Finn, the film was inspired by his 2020 short movie titled “Laura Hasn’t Slept.” A clever viral marketing campaign and an intriguing premise captured people’s interest, allowing it to earn nearly double its budget during its opening weekend. The movie became a sensation, with its layered narrative sparking ongoing discussions among viewers even after the credits rolled. For Finn, who had no prior experience directing a full-length film, this was an outstanding debut. Given the excitement surrounding the sequel, it’s not surprising that fans are eager to know more about it. However, details regarding its plot remain elusive at this time.
Even though I’m not an extremely devoted fan of Reba McEntire, it feels like we, as a society, don’t deserve her. Her talent spans across country singing, acting in sitcoms, hosting award shows, and serving on reality show panels – all at exceptional levels. In her leisure time, I can only imagine that she consistently achieves perfect 300 scores in bowling, masterfully prepares Beef Wellington, and has developed a social media platform free of any Nazi content, filled with profound discussions and radiant personalities instead.
