2016’s “Triple 9” is an exhilarating action thriller helmed by director John Hillcoat. Besides Harrelson, it features a distinguished ensemble including Casey Affleck, Anthony Mackie, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Kate Winslet, Norman Reedus, and Gal Gadot. Notably, “Triple 9” also stars Aaron Paul, famed for his exceptional portrayal of Jesse Pinkman in the widely praised series “Breaking Bad.” With its gripping action sequences, intricate plot twists, and impressive cast lineup, this film is definitely worth watching.

2024 saw some outstanding acting performances in the horror genre, often overlooked. As a die-hard movie fan, I was particularly impressed by Demi Moore’s chilling portrayal in “The Substance”, Nicolas Cage’s gripping role in “Longlegs”, and Cailee Spaeny’s captivating act in “Alien: Romulus”. One performance that truly stood out amidst the year’s best was Alisha Weir in the underrated horror film, “Abigail”. Her role as a vampire was nothing short of spectacular, a performance that unfortunately didn’t receive the recognition it deserved.

On Sunday evening, various nominees, presenters, host Nikki Glaser, and other guests are gracefully walking down the red carpet in their elegant outfits before the 82nd annual awards ceremony begins. The awards show will be broadcast on CBS and can also be live-streamed on Paramount+ with Showtime starting at 5 p.m. Pacific Time / 8 p.m. Eastern Time.
