As a seasoned Path of Exile player with countless hours spent traversing the dark and mysterious land of Wraeclast, I can confidently say that the Ancient Vows quest is one of the most intriguing and rewarding tasks I’ve ever embarked on. The cryptic nature of this quest adds an extra layer of excitement, making every step feel like a true adventure.
In the game Path of Exile 2, the Ancient Vows quest stands out as one of the puzzling missions, but the effort put into completing it is certainly rewarding.
Your journey involves tracking down two ancient artifacts. Upon their discovery, you’ll be granted the opportunity to select an enduring advantage that significantly enhances your character.
Instead, you won’t find these artifacts simply laid out for you; instead, you’ll have to put in the effort to locate them yourself.
Here’s how to track down the Ancient Vows relics and make the most of those buffs.
How To Find Ancient Vows Relics
To embark on the Ancient Vows quest, first secure either the Sun Clan’s Artifact or the Kabala Clan’s Artifact.
In the course of your adventures during Act 2, you may encounter foes who occasionally leave behind these artifacts as they fall.
The quest doesn’t specify the exact locations of these artifacts; instead, you’ll have to explore regions where they may be found.
Enemies within The Bone Pit area are known to drop the Sun Clan artifact, a place filled with skeletons and remains of ancient beasts.
Once you take out the enemies, one of them will drop the Sun Clan Relic.
This relic pops up as a green item in your inventory, so it’s easy to spot among the other drops.
Continue your pursuit until you successfully obtain it. Meanwhile, the elusive Kabala Clan Relic can be discovered in the desolate region of Keth, inhabited by slippery reptiles.
Similar to the Sun Clan Artifact, this object can be obtained as a chance loot from defeated foes, particularly the snake-like beings native to this region.
Due to its unpredictable nature, you may need to vanquish several bands of enemies before successfully acquiring the artifact.
To advance in the Ancient Vows quest, you need both relics. Obtaining one relic will allow you to move on to the following stage of the quest.
If not, continue exploring The Bone Pits or Keth until you collect both.
How To Use Ancient Vows Relics
If you possess both the Sun Clan and Kabala Clan artifacts, make your way to the Altar of Amrit located within the Valley of the Titans.

There’s a large altar with two open slots for the relics.
To finish the quest, please take your relics from your inventory and place each one carefully within the medallion’s designated spaces.
Once the artifacts are set up correctly, you’ll encounter a choice where one option increases your Charm Charge count by 30%.
The second option is a 15% Increased Mana Recovery from Flasks. This comes in clutch for builds that need mana for abilities.
Ultimately, the decision between these two boosts depends on your preferred gaming style and the requirements of your character setup. Each bonus has its advantages.
If you frequently find yourself low on energy during battles, drinking potions that restore mana can help maintain a steady pace.
If you’re focusing on handling charm penalties for particular abilities, then a charm charge boost would be more beneficial for you.
One of the benefits of the Ancient Vows quest is that you can change your buff any time.
If you’re looking for a new experience or want to switch to the alternative option, feel free to return to the Valley of the Titans, then employ the medallion to flip between them.
There’s no cost to switching, so feel free to experiment and adjust depending on what you run into.
