Patralekhaa reveals Luv Ranjan called her to his office to reject her audition for Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2: ‘I felt really bad…’

As an ardent fan of the captivating Patralekhaa, I find her journey in the realm of Bollywood not just fascinating but incredibly inspiring. Her ability to portray diverse roles with such finesse is truly commendable. However, it was her encounter with Luv Ranjan that really piqued my interest.

Patralekhaa is one of the actresses known for their ability to effortlessly play diverse roles on-screen. She made her debut with Rajkummar Rao starrer Citylights in 2014. But, recently, Patralekhaa shared that she was gave some auditions before her debut, one of which was for Kartik Aaryan starrer Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2. Despite her hope to get the role, she was rejected, yet admired how the film’s director, Luv Ranjan, called her into his office and respectfully conveyed this news..

During an open conversation with Mashable India, Patralekhaa shared that Luv Ranjan was conducting thorough auditions to find the right cast for Pyar Ka Punchnama 2. Nushrratt Bharuccha, Kartik Aaryan, Sunny Singh, and Omkar Kapoor were among the actors who made the final cut. However, two more roles needed to be filled, and she expressed her optimism about obtaining one of those spots.

Later on, the movie director contacted her and invited her to his office. This made the actress believe she had landed the part and so she put her best outfit on for the meeting. But when she was asked to step away from the project, things took an unexpected turn. She recounted the event and shared, “He sat me down and said, ‘Friend, let this one slip by.’ At that instant, I felt quite disheartened and pondered over it.

Patralekhaa found herself dismayed, feeling it was inappropriate for him to summon her to his office only to dismiss her personally. As time passed and she returned home, she pondered over the situation, realizing that Ranjan had demonstrated respect towards her by openly discussing the matter with her directly.

She fondly remembered him telling her, “My child, unfortunately, things didn’t work out this time, but let’s work on projects together in the future.” This meaningful act of his resonated deeply with her.

Despite not being able to play the role in the 2015 film, she later had an opportunity to collaborate with the filmmaker in his 2024 film titled “Wild Wild Punjabi”. This movie also features actors such as Varun Sharma, Jassie Gill, and Sunny Singh. Simarpreet Singh is directing it, but Luv Ranjan wrote its story and financed it through T-Series, keeping his promise.
