In a new development, Patrick Whitesell’s investment firm WTSL, funded by Silver Lake, has brought on board Jason Lublin, previously the CFO at Endeavor, as both its president and partner. Additionally, Lublin will assume the roles of president and COO for Win Sports Group, an NFL representation company that Whitesell recently obtained from WME.
WTSL represents Whitesell’s latest business endeavor, launched following Silver Lake’s acquisition of Endeavor this year and subsequent transition into a private entity. Silver Lake has initially invested $250 million to establish the new company, with its first acquisition being in the NFL sector.
This month, the company unveiled a partnership with Universal Music Group, primarily aimed at leveraging UMG’s music and artists to explore new possibilities in areas like “movies, TV shows, fashion, merchandise, and themed events,” plus other potential prospects.
Lublin stated, ‘WTSL is ideally situated to shape the future of media, entertainment, and sports development and innovation.’ I’m thrilled to collaborate with Patrick once more in creating a company that can provide financial backing as well as operational partnerships to innovators, content creators, and businesses. These industries are on the brink of a new age, and we’re dedicated to working alongside those who will shape it.’
Jason is highly skilled and widely recognized as one of the top negotiators in our field,” said Whitesell. “Throughout his career, he has successfully handled some of the most intricate and significant deals within media and sports. His extensive understanding of various international businesses will significantly aid us in expanding WTSL and collaborating with partners who are shaping the future of these industries.
Egon Durban, a co-CEO of Silver Lake, praised Jason’s exceptional skills, knowledge, ingenuity, and enthusiasm in cutting-edge dealmaking and business model innovation within the media, entertainment, and sports sector. He expressed appreciation for Jason’s past work with Endeavor and looked forward to seeing him excel further in his new position at WTSL, working alongside Patrick,” said Egon Durban.
