Paul McCartney expressed a heartfelt tribute to Brian Wilson, acknowledging one of the greatest songwriters in pop history, whom he frequently referred to as a significant inspiration for his own compositions.
Brian possessed an enigmatic musical gift that made his compositions incredibly poignant, as McCartney shared on Instagram yesterday. The melodies he envisioned and shared with us were both straightforward and ingenious at once. I adored him, and it was a privilege to be in the presence of his radiant brilliance for a short while. McCartney has often acknowledged Wilson’s impact on his and the Beatles’ songwriting, as “Pet Sounds” played a significant role in shaping “Sgt.
