As a long-time fan of Todd Stashwick’s versatile acting skills, I am absolutely thrilled to see him joining the star-studded cast of Marvel Studios’ untitled Vision series! His knack for portraying complex characters, from the ruthless leader of scavengers in 12 Monkeys to the enigmatic Starfleet Captain Liam Shaw in Picard, makes him an ideal fit for this intriguing role.
Actor Todd Stashwick, known for his significant part in season three of “Star Trek: Picard,” has signed up alongside Paul Bettany and James Spader for Marvel Studios’ upcoming untitled Vision series – a sequel to the Emmy-winning show “WandaVision.
The actor will be working again with Terry Matalas, the highly acclaimed executive producer of Star Trek: Picard, who is directing the upcoming series, though it’s important to note that it isn’t yet confirmed as Vision Quest; the official name remains unannounced.
Bettany is set to resume his character as Vision, the artificial being who developed feelings for the Scarlet Witch before meeting his demise at the hands of Thanos in “Avengers: Infinity War”. In “WandaVision”, he reappears through magic and the force of grief, yet not in his original form but as a newly constructed android that now appears ghostly pale.
In the upcoming plot, Spader once again takes on the character of Ultron, a self-aware entity produced by Tony Stark, also known as Iron Man, initially designed to safeguard but which ultimately rebelled against mankind, as depicted in the film “Avengers: Age of Ultron.” Interestingly, Ultron played a part in the genesis of Vision, almost like a father figure. However, it remains undecided whether Ultron will reappear in robot form or as a human.
The performance delves into Vision’s quest for a fresh meaning in existence, as rumors hint that Stashwick portrays an assassin pursuing the android and the advanced tech it carries.
The third installment of the trilogy, which began with “WandaVision” and was furthered in “Agatha All Along,” set to air in September on Disney+, plans to film in England at the start of 2025.
In the TV series “Picard”, Stashwick portrayed Starfleet Captain Liam Shaw, who presented challenges and contrasted with Jean-Luc Picard’s character. Additionally, this actor collaborated with Matalas on the television adaptation of “12 Monkeys”, a show based on Terry Gilliam’s thriller, where Matalas served as co-creator. In that series, Stashwick depicted the head of a ruthless band of scavengers.
This actor has amassed roles on various shows including “9-1-1: Lone Star”, “S.W.A.T.”, the Disney Channel’s “Kim Possible” movie, and “The Originals” series on The CW. Notably, he is represented by Meghan Shumacher Management.
