As a seasoned gamer of hip-hop culture and a longtime Playboi Carti enthusiast, I can confidently say that Rolling Loud Miami 2023 was nothing short of a musical rollercoaster ride. After years of anticipation for his much-delayed album “I AM MUSIC,” the Atlanta native finally gave us a taste of what’s to come, and boy, was it worth the wait!
When Playboi Carti speaks about doing something, fans often consider it with a touch of skepticism. Thus, when the artist declared he’d be sharing sneak peeks of his much-anticipated album titled “I AM MUSIC” at Rolling Loud Miami, we felt a bit hesitant. Nevertheless, true to his word, during his Sunday performance at the tenth anniversary of the Florida festival, Carti unveiled previews of three new songs from “I AM MUSIC.“.
The first track, a guitar-heavy one, comes produced by F1LTHY, though the title remains unconfirmed. The second offering, also untitled comes equipped with production from Metro Boomin.
In the last of the previews, the rapper from Opium teams up again with his collaborator on “Timeless”, The Weeknd. Their collaboration, titled “Drugs Got Me Numb”, garnered affection from both festival-goers and commentators alike.
He declared during his concert that every track he appears on is essentially his own song. Additionally, he performed “KETAMINE” during the show, a track he previously released on Instagram in March, hinting at it as part of an upcoming project titled “I AM MUSIC.
