RDJ’s Lunch Game: Sebastian Stan Took a While to Get an Invite

It appears that based on numerous reports, many actors from the Marvel Cinematic Universe have developed genuine friendships off-screen. A significant portion of this bonding might have occurred during the filming of Captain America: Civil War, as it’s been said that Robert Downey Jr. extended invitations for lunch to a large number of his co-stars. However, Sebastian Stan was not one of the first invited, perhaps due to some unique circumstances.

A clip from the press conference back when Captain America: Civil War was released has recently gone viral on Instagram, which includes members of the cast discussing that Robert Downey Jr. would occasionally invite other members of the cast to lunch. Downey apparently had a very nice trailer set up, which Anthony Mackie says made the invite very coveted, and he was jealous when Daniel Brühl got the call. Mackie said…

Every day, it seems everyone aims for lunch, and when someone else gets invited, I can’t help but feel envious. For instance, on the day he was invited, I saw him pass by my trailer, and I exclaimed, “Oh, bother!” Robert acquainted me with quinoa. I remember thinking, “What are these small spheres I’m eating?” He replied, “That’s quinoa.

In my perspective as a movie enthusiast, the specifics on how other actors earned their invitations to join this cinematic universe remain unclear; however, it appears that everyone was extended an invitation at least once. Interestingly enough, Daniel Brühl recounts that when he first crossed paths with Robert Downey Jr., Iron Man himself inquired about any food allergies, leaving the newcomer to the Marvel Cinematic Universe rather bewildered.

It appears as though Sebastian Stan was eventually asked to join Robert Downey Jr.’s table, although the invitation came later than expected. Downey mentioned that he received a video from Stan showcasing his workout routine, which gave Downey a moment of apprehension. He elaborated…

I wished Sebastian [Stan] could visit earlier, but he sent me a video of him doing intense bicep curls with a headless Iron Man figure. I replied, “He’s quite unique, isn’t he? Let’s see if we can figure out his food preferences next.” [jokingly]

Could it be that everyone inside the MCU is so thrilled because Robert Downey Jr. will reprise his role as Doctor Doom, potentially hinting at a comeback for the RDJ Lunch Break? It seems like the actor had some delicious meals and was always ready to treat the rest of the cast to them.

Since he departed from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), no actor has shone quite like him. This could be one reason why the more recent movies have been met with some challenges. Perhaps the absence of such a prominent star is what’s causing fans to be less enthused. However, I’m certain Brie Larson would gladly treat everyone to lunch as well!

Absolutely, it’s likely that the cast of “Avengers: Doomsday” will be rather extensive. Fingers crossed that there will be ample filming days featuring Downey Jr., ensuring each actor gets a decent meal during their shoot.
