This newly added, enduring addition to the Redbreast lineage has been painstakingly created, providing a distinctive spin on the traditional Redbreast flavor profile. Already garnering significant recognition at various international tasting events in 2024, such as The Irish Whiskey Masters, Beverage Testing Institute, International Spirits Challenge, and International Wine & Spirit Competition, where it received four Gold Medals, the Redbreast 18-Year-Old represents a thrilling innovation for the brand, marking its initial 18-year-old offering within the Redbreast collection.
Redbreast 18-Year-Old skillfully combines the distinctive character of oloroso sherry casks and ex-bourbon barrels, a trademark blend for this brand, to infuse the whiskey with its unique taste. While Redbreast 12-Year-Old offers vanilla sweetness, toasted wood, and dried fruits, and Redbreast 15-Year-Old showcases a more herbal profile, the extended aging of Redbreast 18-Year-Old enhances this journey with rich blackcurrant and raspberry undertones, strong tannins, and a lavish chocolate essence.
Regarding the release, Master Blender David McCabe comments: “This latest entry in the Redbreast core collection elegantly balances our older and younger products. Our goal was to unveil a unique flavor profile for the permanent Redbreast series while maintaining its signature style. By including cream sherry casks, we’ve crafted a whiskey with a robust flavor of dark chocolate, blackcurrants, and hazelnuts. This edition not only preserves our tradition but also highlights our dedication to creativity in Irish whiskey production.
