Regal Cineworld Taps Veteran Exhibition Exec Brooks LeBoeuf to Head Film Content in U.S.

Regal Cineworld Group has tapped Brooks LeBoeuf to serve as head of film content in the U.S.

In his new role, he will oversee all aspects related to acquiring, distributing, and programming for Regal Cinemas. This involves creating a diverse selection of films, events, and experiences. Essentially, this requires collaborating closely with internal teams to plan content for the numerous cinemas scattered throughout the United States.

In his new job, he will be in charge of managing everything from acquiring films, organizing their distribution, and planning programming for Regal Cinemas. This includes curating a mix of movies, events, and experiences. To do this, he’ll need to work closely with various internal teams to coordinate content across the country’s many Regal Cinema locations.

Additionally, he’ll focus on expanding the company’s ties with film studios and content providers. This was disclosed by Adam Rymer, Regal Cineworld’s chief US commercial officer, who will be LeBoeuf’s superior. His position is Senior Vice President of U.S. Content in the organization.

LeBoeuf succeeds James Lamar.

Brooks’ history shows he knows what audiences want in movies and how their preferences are evolving, which will help us improve the theater-going experience even more,” stated Rymer. “He will be a valuable resource for our current studio and content partners, and may also help broaden the range of programming available at Regal. I’d like to acknowledge James Lamar for his effective leadership of the team during the past year and his ongoing contributions to Regal.

LeBoeuf boasts over 25 years of expertise in areas such as entertainment exhibition, operations, event management, marketing, retail, sales, audience engagement, and film programming. His most recent position was that of Vice President of Film Programming for Landmark Cinemas, the second-largest cinema exhibitor in Canada. Over the past twelve years, he has held various roles at Landmark, including film and content programming and operations. Before his tenure at Landmark, LeBoeuf served in roles related to film programming, marketing, sales, customer strategy, and operations at Empire Theatres for seven years. He kick-started his career as a marketing manager at Cineplex Entertainment.

LeBoeuf expressed his great pride in becoming part of Regal’s esteemed group of professionals, who have such an impressive history in movie theater operation. We find ourselves at a crucial point of transformation within our industry, and he is eager to contribute to the upcoming phase. He is thrilled about collaborating with our studios and creative partners to present a dynamic, daring, and audience-focused collection that truly showcases the full potential of cinema.

LeBoeuf was overjoyed to be joining Regal’s skilled team and contribute to a company with a long-standing reputation in movie theaters. The industry is at a significant turning point, and he can’t wait to help shape the future. He looks forward to working alongside our studios and creative partners to create a diverse, bold, and audience-oriented lineup that demonstrates cinema’s full power.)

Eduardo Acuna, head of Regal Cinemas (which is owned by Cineworld Group), feels confident that his movie theater network will thrive as we move past the pandemic and bankruptcy periods. As the second-largest cinema chain in the U.S., trailing only AMC Theatres, Regal Cineworld has managed to reduce its debt burden under Acuna’s leadership. This was achieved by enhancing the cinematic experience with premium offerings such as 4DX auditoriums and other strategic investments.
