Rising Label Work and Days Unveils its Well-Rounded Collection for FW24

As a seasoned fashion enthusiast with a penchant for functional yet stylish garments, I must say that Raff Godfrey’s latest capsule collection for Work and Days has truly piqued my interest. Having worked as Head of Menswear at Norse Projects and now gracing the rising label, it’s clear that this designer knows a thing or two about crafting timeless, high-quality pieces.

Previously serving as the Head of Men’s Fashion at Norse Projects, Raff Godfrey has recently revealed his newest assortment of pieces; this time, it’s designed for the up-and-coming brand Work and Days, which is showcasing its new Fall/Winter 2024 collection.

Work and Days’ newest line is further enhancing its design aesthetic by investigating the fusion of natural fabrics and technical yarns, and testing various ways to exploit their distinct qualities. To accomplish this, certain wool fibers are subjected to hot-washing processes, while the clothing items incorporate classic “jean seams” and workwear construction methods that give each piece a special quality and a worn-in appeal typically developed with prolonged use.

Furthermore, the assortment highlights two primary textiles: Japanese Woolfast Gabardine and Japanese Technical Wool Shirting. The first one is a blend of wool and polyester, providing the robustness, quick-drying, and wrinkle-resistance characteristics similar to those found in military-inspired gaberdines. The second one draws inspiration from industrial fabrics, utilizing a warp-knit tricot mix that elevates the comfort of luxury wool to a fabric typically used for high-performance purposes.

Notable items in this collection are a recently introduced Nylon Textured Down Vest for the Fall-Winter season 24, as well as the updated Weather Cloth Hooded Jacket, which has been enhanced with innovative details. For instance, the Weather Cloth material is a matt, texturized nylon that mimics the feel of natural cotton yet boasts the water-resistance and lightness typical of nylon.
