RoboCop Goes Die Hard In New Rogue City Standalone Sequel

RoboCop Rogue City – Unfinished Business. This is a separate sequel or expansion to their highly praised 2023 role-playing game (RPG) adaptation of Detroit and its renowned law enforcement officer, titled simply “Rogue City”.

In the movie “Unfinished Business,” it falls upon RoboCop to confront a formidable group of lawbreakers who have seized the recently constructed OmniTower, a project by OCP designed as a residential building for the citizens of Old Detroit.

Information about gameplay or plot is limited. However, the initial glimpse into Rogue City – Unfinished Business seems reminiscent of Die Hard or Judge Dredd, suggesting a gradual process of regaining control over OmniTower. This appears to involve moving from one floor to another while confronting dangerous challenges throughout.

One thing that stands out right away is the action-packed nature of Unfinished Business compared to Rogue City. RoboCop’s toolkit boasts some striking weaponry, as he gears up to dismantle the lawless citizens (and even a few other machines) who obstruct his pursuit of justice.

Although the game won’t just consist of fast-paced FPS (First Person Shooter) action, there will also be an emphasis on providing more background for our main character, Alex Murphy. Hints of him can be seen throughout the game, and it seems that players might have the chance to reexperience one of the most traumatic events in the series’ history, as suggested by the trailer’s content. If you’re familiar with the franchise, you’ll recognize this.

2023 saw the debut of Rogue City, a title that resonated deeply with both fans and critics alike. As a gamer, I can attest to its charm, even though Teyon is not an AAA developer. Yet, they, along with publisher Nacon, miraculously created a heartfelt tribute to the franchise, meticulously recreating the gritty atmosphere of Old Detroit and its perilous streets. The game’s RPG mechanics, intriguingly complex, elevated it beyond what could have been a run-of-the-mill licensed first-person shooter based on a familiar name.

In the summer of 2025, the long-awaited game titled “RoboCop Rogue City: More Unfinished Business” is set for release. You’ll be able to play it on Xbox Series, the latest PlayStation 5, or your personal computer through Steam.
