The main characters from the show “Welcome to Wrexham” and proprietors of Wrexham AFC football club, are planning to expand their club’s reach and impact by selling a portion of the club ownership, as well as purchasing a local brewery.

Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are transferring their ownership share to the Allyn family, a prosperous upstate New York-based clan. They will now hold less than full control of Wrexham AFC, but they’re also part of the process to buy a fresh company: Wrexham Lager Beer Co Ltd, through a new partnership named Red Dragon Ventures.

Reynolds and McElhenney stated that Wrexham has garnered global interest and they’re working to bring in top-tier collaborators for our upcoming expansion. Eric Allyn, the manager and chief investment officer of the Allyn Family Office, noted that for over a hundred years our family has been dedicated to creating outstanding businesses and bettering the towns we’re part of. The work we’ve done in Syracuse mirrors what Rob and Ryan have initiated in Wrexham. To us, Red Dragon Ventures represents an opportunity to invest in a top-tier football club, but also in the warm and inviting town of Wrexham,” he said.
