As Mohammad Shehzad, also known as Vijay Das, I found myself in a challenging predicament last year due to my tight financial situation. Desperate to support my mother’s medical treatment, I was forced to consider unconventional methods after losing a housekeeping job in December of the previous year. Regrettably, this desperation led me to attempt a robbery at Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan‘s residence, a decision I deeply regret.
As reported by The Times of India, a man named Mohammad Shehzad, struggling with severe poverty, allegedly sought to rob Saif Ali Khan’s residence due to his desire to find wealth. Additionally, it was claimed that he intended to escape to Bangladesh following the alleged theft.
According to the statement made by an officer, he picked Saif’s house at random for his robbery plan. His aim was to rob a wealthy individual, secure the stolen goods, and use them to aid his sick mother in Bangladesh.
In my fervor as a devoted fan, I’d rephrase it like this: On December 15, I lost my cherished housekeeping job at that Thane restaurant, and the contract with the manpower agency owned by Jitendra Pandey had expired. This left me in a precarious financial situation, nearly penniless. It turns out, this unexpected turn of events served as the immediate spark for the crime he committed.
Prior to joining the restaurant in Thane last September, Shariful had been employed at a restaurant in Worli, receiving approximately 13,000 rupees per month as salary. He stated during questioning that he would remit around 12,000 rupees of this income to Bangladesh for his mother’s medical expenses, while retaining only 1,000 rupees for personal use, according to the report.
At the Worli restaurant, Shehzad lost his job following an incident where he was found with a customer’s diamond ring in his possession.
In response to interrogation, Shehzad admitted to repeatedly stabbing actor Saif Ali Khan in the back as a means of escaping his strong hold. Following the assault, he escaped from Khan’s luxurious apartment located in Bandra and concealed himself in the building’s garden for approximately two hours.
On a chilly January morning, as I eagerly awaited the dawning of a new day, my heart skipped a beat when I heard the shocking news: My beloved Saif Ali Khan had been attacked at his very residence! The hours that followed were filled with anxious anticipation and fervent prayers for his well-being. Then, just days later, on January 19th, came another piece of information that sent a wave of relief through my fan community – Shehzad was apprehended in Thane! This news brought a glimmer of hope that justice would be served, and my beloved Saif Ali Khan would continue to captivate us with his extraordinary talent on the silver screen.
On January 21, 2025, after being stabbed several times in an attack, Khan went through emergency surgery at Lilavati Hospital. Exactly one month later, on the same date, the actor was released from the hospital and happily returned home, still managing to flash a radiant smile amidst the unfortunate event.
