Salman Khan recalls terrifying near-death experience during 45-minute turbulence in flight; ‘Even the pilots…’

Salman Khan recently appeared as a guest on Arhaan Khan’s YouTube channel, Dumb Biryani, which is run by his son and nephew. The chat was casual yet revealing, with the famous actor sharing numerous untold stories. Reflecting on past events, he recalled a nerve-wracking incident where he encountered turbulence on an airplane for approximately 45 minutes.

As a dedicated follower, I’m sharing my own words about Salman Khan’s account on Arhaan Khan’s podcast, Dumb Biryani. Salman himself reminisced about a chilling near-death episode he experienced while journeying with his brother Sohail Khan. In recounting the event, the superstar detailed that during their flight home from an awards ceremony, they endured turbulence that lasted far beyond the usual few minutes – it persisted for a prolonged 45 minutes or more.

According to the actor Sikandar, things appeared ordinary at first, but then the plane’s engine became increasingly loud, causing everyone aboard to feel frightened. Recalling the incident, Khan said that he and another passenger, Sohail, were on the same flight. At one point, when he glanced over at Sohail, he was asleep. However, the turbulence persisted for a staggering 45 minutes.

He went on to mention, “I glanced at the flight attendant, and she was praying. At that moment, I exclaimed internally, ‘Good heavens!’ Even the pilots seemed anxious, when they’re typically so calm. Then, the oxygen masks descended, and I found myself thinking, ‘This is something I’ve only witnessed in movies!’ After about 45 minutes, things calmed down, and everyone returned to their usual selves, even laughing once more.

Salman recalled that Sonakshi Sinha and her mom, Poonam Sinha, were also aboard the same flight. He noted that as soon as the turbulence resumed, the laughter halted instantly. “From then until we safely landed, there was an eerie silence,” he added, jokingly. “However, once we touched ground, everyone transformed into a model strutting down the runway.

In terms of his career, Salman Khan will appear in the upcoming movie “Sikandar” directed by AR Murugadoss. This much-anticipated film is set to debut on Eid 2025, marking a collaboration with Sajid Nadiadwala that follows a decade since their last project together, Kick.

This high-octane action movie stars Rashmika Mandanna, Sharman Joshi, Prateik Babbar, and Sathyaraj prominently.

During our conversation, Rashmika described her time collaborating with Salman as “quite nerve-racking” for her. Moreover, she pointed out that this upcoming project will mark her debut in mainstream Bollywood, contrasting it with her earlier Hindi films such as Mission Majnu which had more character-driven scripts.
