‘School of Rock’ Stars Caitlin Hale & Angelo Massagli Get Married

Ring-a-ding-dong! However, this time, it isn’t the melody from “Legend of The Rent” that we hear. Instead, it’s the sweet sound of wedding bells celebrating the union of two actors who starred in the beloved comedy School Of Rock. Yes, you guessed it! Caitlin Hale and Angelo Massagli, former students at Horace Green Prep, recently tied the knot in a hotel wedding in New Jersey. Witnessing these once-youthful private school rockers exchange vows is both heartwarming and a bit chilling, serving as an eerie reminder of the relentless passage of time by old man Father Time.

In the film “School of Rock”, the fresh, talented actors make an impression, but it remains one of Jack Black’s most outstanding performances yet. Black portrays Dewey Finn, a dismissed band member who, disguised as his roommate (Mike White), takes on the role of substitute teacher at a local school. Leveraging his charisma and skills, he turns rigid prep school students into a rock band to outdo his ex-bandmates in a battle of the bands competition.

Years after their collaboration on the 2003 comedy, “School of Rock,” the two actors resumed contact when Massagli discovered through their group chat that Hale was relocating to Florida, near him. They met for lunch in 2016 and have been a couple since then. In an interview with Inside Edition Digital back in 2021, Massagli confirmed that they were dating.

Reflecting on my initial audition for ‘School of Rock’, it feels as if it happened just yesterday. Stepping into that auditorium, I found myself standing next to a petite blonde girl. To my surprise, she was the one who got called in first. As she began singing show tunes, the room seemed to vibrate with her powerful voice, leaving me spellbound and thinking the ceiling might actually shatter under the sheer brilliance of her performance.

Rivkah Reyes, another cast member who portrayed bassist Katie, uploaded a TikTok video showcasing the couples’ reunion. This special moment brought together many of our former colleagues such as Brian Falduto, Joey Gaydos Jr., Robert Tsai, Maryam Hassan, Aleisha Allen, Cole Hawkins, Z Infante, and James Hosey.

‘School of Rock,’ One of the Best Comedies of the Decade

What makes School Of Rock timelessly appealing is Jack Black’s unmatched charm, clever writing by Mike White, and the film’s refreshing lack of saccharine sweetness. If you recall movies from the early 2000s – do check your cholesterol – you may remember the numerous raunchy comedies that were popular back then. Compared to other films of the time, School of Rock stood out for its sincerity and joyfulness, which might explain why it continues to bring laughter today. The authentic camaraderie and collaboration between cast members when they look back on the film may be what has kept them connected over the years, and why a group chat that reunited Massagli and Hale still exists.

In 2023, marking its 20th anniversary, the movie has amassed numerous anecdotes and personal recollections from its cast members. Hale shared her experiences during a conversation with Rolling Stone magazine around this milestone event.

Indeed, Jack certainly had a knack for making us laugh, but I distinctly recall Rick being incredibly supportive, welcoming, and eager to incorporate our thoughts into the project. He made us feel like true contributors, as if we were all working together on something significant.
