The upcoming live-action movie titled “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow” is being produced, serving as the next installment in the revamped DC Universe, coming after James Gunn’s Superman, due to hit theaters this summer. Although fans haven’t caught a glimpse of Milly Alcock playing the leading superhero yet, photos from the film set have been leaked online. Unlike her Kryptonian relative, “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow ” portrays the character as she journeys across the galaxy following the destruction of Krypton, which eventually leads her to aid a young girl in seeking revenge for the death of her father.
As a passionate cinephile, I’ve been eagerly waiting for months, and finally, snapshots from “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow” have surfaced online. These images don’t unveil any characters from the upcoming DC Universe film, but they do tantalize us with the cosmic locales that Supergirl is set to explore. One photo showcases a set being constructed, reminiscent of a spaceship – not exactly surprising given that Gunn’s initial glimpse of Supergirl was in a space bar setting as Alcock. Take a peek at them below!
According to Gunn’s earlier hints, a significant portion of the upcoming movie titled “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow” will be filmed indoors using blue screens because most of the story takes place on an alien planet. Fans might only get a few glimpses from the set before the film premieres in theaters next year. However, if outdoor shooting does occur (as suggested by images showing blue screens), early leaks of Supergirl could potentially surface online before DC Studios officially unveils her appearance. Given that David Corenswet’s character was accidentally revealed in Superman, it seems additional measures might be in place to keep Alcock’s portrayal of Kara Zor-El secret.
Jason Momoa Teases Lobo Design in ‘Supergirl’
In contrast to the enigmatic silence surrounding James Gunn and DC Studios regarding the swift development of Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, Jason Momoa has been more open recently. The previous DCEU actor is set to reappear in the DC Universe, portraying the charming anti-hero and occasional supervillain Lobo in an upcoming DCU movie. Despite his part appearing minor in the broader storyline, he’s been sharing tidbits about the character’s comic book-true appearance and distinctive means of transportation with fans.
I won’t reveal everything, but let me tell you, we’ve captured the character’s likeness remarkably well. He’s quite gruff and rough, and as for the bike, it’s simply amazing.
In the second film within the DC Universe (DCU), titled “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow“, will delve into the alien aspect of the cinematic universe. It will also present an interpretation of the superhero, Supergirl, that many viewers may not be acquainted with, shaped by a distinctive origin story that is harsher and unyielding compared to the upbringing of Kal-El in Smallville. This movie, based on the comic book by Tom King, serves as the most potent sign that the studio is prioritizing quality screenplays over a rigidly planned series of films.
