Should Kingdom Hearts 4 Really Have A Star Wars World?

As a long-time gamer and avid fan of both Disney and Star Wars, I’m thrilled to hear that Square Enix is bringing Star Wars into the Kingdom Hearts universe with Kingdom Heights 4. Growing up, I fondly remember playing the original Kingdom Hearts games and being captivated by the magical world where Disney characters and Final Fantasy elements came together. The addition of Star Wars seems like a natural fit to me, given the epic battles between light and dark that define both franchises.

1. For quite some time now, Square Enix’s Kingdom Hearts series, the cherished yet complex offspring of Disney and Final Fantasy, has been adored by many. In the background, there is much speculation about Kingdom Hearts 4, and it appears that Star Wars might be incorporated into the game in some fashion.

As a dedicated gamer, it’s no secret that I’ve been eagerly anticipating the next installment of Kingdom Hearts. With Disney’s beloved Star Wars universe now officially joining forces with Square Enix, it feels like Pirates of the Caribbeans’ grand entrance back in 2005 all over again.

Although some may object to Star Wars being integrated into the whimsical realm of Disney’s Kingdom Hearts, the truth is that the Star Wars saga aligns best with its storyline. Fundamentally, Star Wars revolves around the classic theme of good versus evil, as characters strive for redemption and even their most wicked adversaries seek forgiveness.

1. In Star Wars: Episode IX – Return of the Jedi, Darth Vader’s story concludes with him battling internal darkness and ultimately joining the Light Side, motivated by his love for his son. However, we later learn that Emperor Palpatine had been hiding at Exegol all this time, which somewhat diminishes the impact of Vader’s transformation. Yet, in the moment, it provided a satisfying and emotional conclusion that was consistent with pulp storytelling tropes. Additionally, the scene where Vader turns to good can be likened to some of the most heartfelt endings found in Kingdom Hearts.

1. In the Kingdom Hearts series, protagonist Sora, who is known for wearing large shoes, focuses on persuading others to choose the path of light. Unlike joining Organization XII, Sora aims to foster friendships with everyone and defend the universe as a whole. He even engages in battles to prevent a colossal cosmic structure reminiscent of the Death Star, though it’s constructed from hearts rather than metal, and its true purpose remains uncertain.

Additionally, Kingdom Hearts’ battle system aligns well with Star Wars, displaying an exaggerated resemblance. By making a simple replacement, the hefty keyblade could be transformed into a lightsaber. Magic is present in both series, and Sora moves around with the agility of a Jedi Master under the influence of stimulants.

In my gaming world, these typical Heartless creatures would fit right into a Star Wars universe. If you dressed them in sack cloaks, they’d resemble the Jawas quite closely. Alternatively, imagine if they inhabited the Ewoks on Endor! Now that would make for some exciting gameplay.

1. Regarding the franchise that has welcomed us to TRON on two occasions, it’s not entirely implausible to imagine the incorporation of Star Wars. Given the numerous Star Wars games that have been launched so far, though, is it possible for Kingdom Hearts 4 to craft a more compelling narrative than Jedi Survivor or Star Wars Squadrons? (Paraphrased)

1. At present, there’s no confirmed release date for Kingdom Hearts 4, as it’s been two years since its announcement. Fingers crossed for more updates from Square Enix soon!
