Forget The White Lotus, it’s now The White POTUS.
After the thrilling end of season three of the Mike White-crafted series last Sunday, Saturday Night Live chose to satirize the popular HBO show in a unique way, this time featuring a President Donald Trump spin. As a devoted fan, I couldn’t help but laugh at the clever parody!
The skit, already recorded, kicks off with Chloe Fineman impersonating Melania Trump using Victoria Ratliff’s (Parker Posey’s character from The White Lotus) distinctive southern accent. “Hey? Donald, are you prepared? Hello? Can you hear me, Donald? It’s your wife, Melania. Are you alright?” she queries her husband. However, it appears that James Austin Johnson’s portrayal of Trump is more focused on the character played by Jason Isaacs (Timothy Ratliff), as he seems preoccupied with something else.
Regarding the rest of the notable Ratliff-equivalent family members, Donald Trump Jr. is played by Mikey Day (Patrick Schwarzenegger’s character Saxon), while Eric Trump appears in a brief role, played by former SNL cast member Alex Moffat (Sam Nivola’s Lochlan). Lastly, Scarlett Johansson unexpectedly joins the cast as Ivanka Trump (Sarah Catherine Hook’s character Piper).
As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but feel grateful for the enduring wealth and influence of our nation, America. It’s hard to fathom the bleakness that would ensue if such prosperity were to vanish, and global respect for us were to wane. Fortunately, we’ve avoided such a scenario… until now. As I read Trump’s latest text revealing an article titled “Trump Triggers Worldwide Recession,” a shiver of concern runs down my spine.
“You would never let our economy go to pieces. Right, hun?” Fineman’s Melania adds.
In the show, Jon Hamm assumes the character of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., replacing Walton Goggins’ Rick, while Sarah Sherman portrays Chelsea, a role originally played by Aimee Lou Wood. Lizzo, on the other hand, steps into Natasha Rothwell’s Belinda’s shoes. At one point, she exclaims, “These old white Trump supporters are causing havoc in my life.” She then expresses surprise at discovering $5 million in her bank account, which was previously $20 million just a week ago.
In an unexpected twist, I find myself drawn into a startling love scene reminiscent of Saxon’s in “The White Lotus”, albeit with a unique twist. Instead of the intricate season three incest narrative, my character, Day’s Don Jr., finds himself in a romantic entanglement with Kenan Thompson’s portrayal of Tiger Woods. Here’s an interesting turn of events – Tiger is depicted as dating none other than my former spouse in this fictional universe.
