The sequel to “Squid Game,” titled “Squid Game 2,” has surpassed 152.5 million total views, placing it as the third most-watched series on Netflix behind two other titles: “Wednesday” with 252 million and the initial season of “Squid Game” with a record-breaking 265 million views.
In the four days following its second season launch, the show amassed an impressive 68 million views, setting a new record for the streamer’s largest TV debut. A week later, it had garnered a staggering 126.2 million views within just under two weeks, continuing to lead the non-English TV top 10 list for another week. The surge in popularity even prompted viewers to rewatch the first season, pushing it back into third place on the chart.
Currently, the show featuring Lee Jung-Jae holds two of Netflix’s highest positions. This week, it was revealed that the program is leading the rankings as the most-viewed title of the week with a staggering 26.3 million views. Additionally, the video game adaptation titled “Squid Game: Unleashed” has climbed to the top spot on App Store charts in an impressive 107 countries. Despite plans for the series to conclude after season three, Netflix hints that they are considering expanding the franchise, but specific details have not been disclosed yet.
