Starz and BritBox Launch Streaming’s Latest Bundle

As a longtime fan of British programming and a cord-cutter who has been juggling multiple streaming subscriptions for years, this new partnership between Starz and BritBox is nothing short of a dream come true! It feels like the perfect marriage of two platforms that cater to my love for premium, high-quality content. I’m particularly excited about the 25% discount – it’s like they’re offering a cup of tea with every subscription!

Enthusiasts of shows set in the U.K., get ready to celebrate! On Thursday, Starz and BritBox unveiled a new collaboration, offering what might just be the most specific streaming package available.

Currently, viewers have an opportunity to subscribe to both digital platforms through the Starz website for just $14.99 per month, which is 25% cheaper than subscribing to each platform separately.

Starz, undeniably, is the American cable network responsible for hit series like “Outlander” and “Power,” as well as newer releases such as “Three Women” and currently, the suspenseful “Sweetpea.” BritBox, on the other hand, is a streaming service dedicated to providing endless British content, having been introduced in the U.S. by BBC Studios and ITV back in 2017, and now solely owned by the latter.

In the current phase of the streaming industry, large corporations are focusing on increasing their revenue following years of excessive spending. As a result, bundling services has become quite common, which ironically reminds some former cable users of their past with cord-cutting. This year alone, we’ve seen Netflix and Peacock bundle through Verizon, while Disney+, Hulu, and Max have created a bundle of their own. (A sports bundle from Disney, Fox, and Warner Bros. Discovery is on the horizon at a hefty $42.99 per month.)

Alison Hoffman, President of Starz Networks, stated that partnerships have always been essential for us due to our role as a complementary premium service. Now, we’re thrilled to introduce bundle options through our very own retail platform. We think this enlarged selection enhances the value for adult viewers who appreciate prestigious, high-quality programming, and it creates an incredibly smooth and hassle-free consumer experience.

Speaking about this, Robert Schildhouse, President and General Manager of BritBox International, stated, “We’re living through an era of change in our industry, yet the preferences of viewers remain constant: they crave authentic, daring, exceptional storytelling. We at BritBox are thrilled to debut our first-ever package with Starz, offering us the chance to share the unique aspects of British television with a fresh audience.

The two firms announced their bundle with excitement, highlighting the combination of Starz’s “high-quality action, thriller, and female-focused” shows alongside BritBox’s array of classic and modern British television. Apart from Starz’s series Sweatpea, featuring Ella Pernell, BritBox is preparing for a high-profile debut of its own with the ITV crime drama Passengers.
