The latest Netflix show titled “The Four Seasons” brings together comedic legends Tina Fey and Steve Carell, with their off-screen bond growing significantly stronger as they became inseparable friends, affectionately known as “super tight besties.

In her latest feature article, Fey shared with The Hollywood Reporter that she and Steve Carell filmed an entire movie together without ever truly connecting off-screen due to their shyness, following their work together in the 2010 comedy film “Date Night”. She expressed, “Without anyone prompting us, he and I would both remain in quiet politeness. However, after working with a larger cast, I now consider Steve and I as real friends.”

In her recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Fey revealed that she and Steve Carell, who co-starred in the 2010 comedy “Date Night”, didn’t really bond off-set because they’re both introverted. She said, “Neither of us would talk much without anyone around to encourage it.” However, since working with a larger group, Fey feels that she and Carell are now genuine friends.

At the debut of the show in Los Angeles (which is a reboot of an ’80s romantic comedy starring Alan Alda with the same title), Carell endorsed Fey’s statements playfully, saying, “It took us 15 years to finally become inseparable best friends.

In a playful manner, Carell told THR that although we were quite reserved in the past, this interview is an exception. He jokingly remarked, “You’re witnessing as gregarious as I get!” In our friendship, much like ours, we are cautious not to bother each other. We both think, ‘Should I text her? Or should I call her?’ But she has children who keep busy. However, we are protective of each other and aware of the responsibilities she carries. So, yes, in this instance, we became close friends. It was enjoyable, she’s fantastic.

In this series, Carell and Fey join forces with Colman Domingo, Will Forte, Marco Calvani, and Kerri Kenney-Silver. The story unfolds around a longstanding friendship among three sets of married couples, which faces trials when one pair decides to part ways through divorce.

Carell expressed immediate enthusiasm for the project, stating, ‘You can’t refuse Tina Fey.’ He continued, ‘I don’t need to know what it’s about, it sounds fantastic. I haven’t been told yet, but that doesn’t concern me.’

The Four Seasons premieres May 1 on Netflix.
