Streaming Ratings: ‘Nobody Wants This’ Grows in Second Week

As a devoted streamer who’s seen more shows than I can count stars in the sky, I must say that this week’s streaming charts have been quite intriguing! The rise of Nobody Wants This on Netflix is truly heartening for rom-com fans like me. It’s always a joy to see a good story take the spotlight.

In the second week of airing, Netflix’s romantic comedy series “Nobody Wants This” climbed a spot to take the runner-up position on Nielsen’s weekly ranking of popular streaming programs.

Last week, from September 30th to October 6th, I was completely hooked on the series featuring Kristen Bell and Adam Brody. Not only did it garner an impressive 1.21 billion minutes of watch time, which is a fantastic 16% boost from its debut week, but it also climbed up one spot in the overall rankings! Interestingly, the previous runner-up, Inside Out 2, experienced a significant 50% drop, still managing a robust 908 million minutes on Disney+.

For three weeks in a row, “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story” has been the most-watched program, clocking in at 1.41 billion minutes of viewing. However, this figure saw a decrease of approximately 41% compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, Netflix’s dating series “Love Is Blind” made a comeback on the charts with a billion minutes of view time during the same period; its seventh season debuted on October 2.

Amazon’s Prime Video series, “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power,” aired its season two finale on October 3rd. However, due to what Nielsen refers to as an “operational problem,” the data for that specific episode isn’t ready yet and won’t be available for another week or two. The rest of the episodes in the series accumulated a total of 527 million minutes of viewing for the week. In the previous five weeks, the show averaged approximately 869 million minutes of viewership.

In addition, “The Great British Baking Show” (430 million minutes) and “Unsolved Mysteries” (352 million) re-entered the ranking of the top 10 original series due to their return for new episodes.

Nielsen’s streaming statistics account for viewing exclusively on TV screens and exclude minutes watched on computers or mobile devices. Moreover, these ratings only quantify U.S. audiences, not those from other countries. Here is a list of the most popular streaming titles between September 30th and October 6th, 2024, within the United States:
